## Overview

From the Eastern Shore’s marshes to the western mountains, Maryland packs a lot of habitat into a small area, with swamp and fewflower milkweed in tidal wetlands and butterfly weed on Piedmont serpentine barrens. The serpentine grasslands of Soldiers Delight are a regional milkweed hotspot.
